Like all paragliders, parakite line lengths gradually change with use, age, loading, moisture, UV exposure and handling. The risers and pulley lines are also subject to shrinking.
The difference with Parakites is that the kite-riser system can multiply small line changes, meaning even minor variations in line length can have a larger effect on the wing’s geometry and behaviour. Although we've seen plenty with significant variations!
Because these changes happen gradually, pilots often adapt without realising their wing is no longer flying as originally intended.
Common signs can include:
• Harder or inconsistent launches
• Changes in handling or brake feel
• Reduced speed or performance
• Unusual turning tendencies
• Inflation that feels different than before
• Stall point is higher
Sometimes there are no obvious signs at all
A trim inspection measures the wing against manufacturer specifications to check whether the geometry has changed and, where possible, return it closer to intended trim.
This isn’t about “tuning” a wing — it’s about checking that it is flying as designed.
If your Parakite has significant hours, beach use, has been packed away in dewy conditions, strong UV exposure, or simply hasn’t been checked in a while, it may be worth considering a trim inspection.
In a coastal or humid environement a lot of this change can happen within the first 20 hours. Things tend to settle down by 50hrs
If you’d like to know more or discuss whether your wing is due for a check, feel free to get in touch.

Yes. We offer trim service for regualr pargliders and mini wings too. Infact the process is a simpler than a parakite as there are no pulley ratios to deal with and most risers aren't designed to be trimmed on a paraglider
